Selfish or Selfless?
A quick search on Amazon displays dozens of books touting how to market to, manage or inspire Millennials, describing them as selfish, self-centered and self absorbed. We believe this generation is actually profoundly Savvy, open to embracing ways to protect the health of this planet and all that call it home. Did you know while we explore tips and tools to create healthier homes, teens across the country discuss GMOs or watch “Food Inc” in philosophy classes, often continuing the discussions outside of school with their parents? And colleges offer environmental health, science and technology majors across the nation? When given a support system, Millennials’ fresh outlook and ‘can do attitude’ can lead to a range of creative solutions, as seen in Maxwell Sheldon's story.Read More »

By working in collaboration with powerhouse organizations our Savvy followers are intimately connected to unfolding science, impactful legislation, advocacy work and educational tools. Through this structure, Savvy is uniquely connected to communicate upcoming campaigns, calls-to-action and high urgency topics. It is this 'we-are-one' approach that creates lasting change. We are honored to announce our fifth and final founding nonprofit partner: Safer States.
Safer States is a network of diverse environmental health coalitions and organizations in states around the country that share a bold and urgent vision. Safer States believes families, communities, and the environment should be protected from the devastating impacts of our society’s heavy use of chemicals. Safer States believes that new state and national chemical policies will contribute to the formation of a cleaner, greener economy.
Did you know there is personal care products legislation under debate?
Our founder, Kristi Marsh, will attend meetings with committee members in Washington D.C. in March, sharing with them that yes, there is a building interest in strong federal personal care products regulation.
(Give us a big 'oh, yes there is!')
Kristi shares that even the term 'lobbying' was intimidated her when she started. Pushing herself out of her comfort zone she came to understand that lobbying can be simply sharing your story with elected leaders. It is still daunting for her to be present at events like the upcoming visit to the Capitol in March, but she seems to have found a renewed surge of protectiveness. Possibly due to a growing Savvy army? We will hear more about that adventure soon.
Now, let's talk about a possible adventure for you.Read More »
