This is the fourth video from our annual Talk Savvy To Me event where we celebrated our volunteers and shared hot topics from powerful speakers. We hope you can attend our next Talk Savvy To Me in late 2018.
Let's Break It Down: GMO's + Glyphosate: What We Need To Know
Before becoming an advocate for transparency in labeling of genetically engineered foods, Marty earned his Bachelors degree in Biotechnology and Genetics from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He now lives in the Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts where he spends time growing and wildcrafting medicine, hunting mushrooms, composting, homesteading, and connecting with allies toward cultural regeneration and nature reconnection.
Marty Dagoberto considers himself a radical optimist and dedicated catalyst in “The Great Turning.” He serves as a community organizer, educator, activist and lobbyist working toward food democracy/sovereignty, social justice, climate action and regenerative (agri)culture. He has focused in recent years on food labeling transparency and agricultural policy. Marty is now helping to organize support for the Massachusetts Pollinator Protection Act. He promotes regenerative organic agriculture and consumer choice as Outreach Coordinator for the Northeast Organic Farming Association (Massachusetts chapter) and is a founding member of Regeneration Massachusetts (formerly MA Right to Know GMOs).
Tackle Topics Two-Months At A Time
As a way to remove some of the overhwhelmingness from these current event topics, the Savvy Women's Alliance tackes topics two months at time. This post is part of a series of educational posts centered around Meat & Veggies. From online education to our chapters who may be headed out on field trips, meeting community farmers or staying in for a book club evening -- change is being created.
